DONNELLY, ID –The Stibnite Foundation is now accepting applications for its first grant funding cycle. The Stibnite Foundation will award approximately $50,000 to fund community projects across Adams County, southern Idaho County and Valley County. Only qualified tax-exempt organizations in those communities will be eligible to apply for funding. Grant applications are due on May 31, 2020.
“We want to fund projects and organizations that will have an impact across our region, show us clear community collaboration and have other local funding sources,” said Bob Crump, president and spokesperson for the Stibnite Foundation. “Our hope is our funding can go directly toward supporting regional projects instead of being used for general operations, staffing and administration costs. We are excited to see the applications come in and work alongside some amazing organizations to create positive impacts in our communities.”
Non-profits interested in applying for a Stibnite Foundation grant can visit www.StibniteFoundation.com. A button for the online application is on the homepage. Applicants will need to provide financial information on their organization, details on their leadership team and a 500-word narrative on the project they would like to be considered. The Stibnite Foundation is planning on awarding between five to 20 grants during 2020.
To apply for funding, organizations must be located in Adams County, southern Idaho County or Valley County and have tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service. The Stibnite Foundation is not allowed to fund any lobbying efforts or political activities. Applications requesting funds for those type of projects will not be considered.

Since 2019, Midas Gold has contributed $300,000 and issued 1.5 million common shares to fund the Stibnite Foundation. The foundation was created as part of Midas Gold’s Community Agreement, which was signed by eight of the communities closest to the site in November 2018.
