Board Plans to Give $50,000 to Community Non-profits
DONNELLY, ID – The Stibnite Foundation is ready to fund important community projects across Adams, Idaho and Valley County. The board announced its first grant application cycle will open April 1 and run through May 31, 2020. The Stibnite Foundation plans to issue approximately $50,000 in community grants this year.
“The Stibnite Foundation has worked very hard over the last year to get us to this point,” said Bob Crump, president and spokesperson for the Stibnite Foundation. “We know there are so many amazing people and organizations across our region working to create positive change in these communities. It is going to be an honor to support some of these efforts, but we recognize it will also be a big challenge to determine what projects we fund during our 2020 grant cycle.”
Organizations who need help with their application can contact [email protected] up until May 15th, 2020. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Immediately after the Stibnite Foundation was formed last year, work began on the granting process. The foundation contracted with Laura Bettis, the director of the Laura Moore Cunningham Foundation, as a consultant for the document creation process.
The Stibnite Foundation was created in 2018 through the establishment of a community agreement between Midas Gold and eight cities and counties surrounding the proposed Stibnite Gold Project. Midas Gold is funding the foundation through a combination of cash and shares. The following individuals will represent their communities on the Foundation board in 2020:
Bob Crump, Riggins
Pat DeHaas, Council
Denis Duman, Idaho County
Clete Edmunson, Adams County
Julie Good, New Meadows
Anne Labelle, Midas Gold Corp
Ronda Rogers, Yellow Pine
Laurel Sayer, Midas Gold Idaho
Gene Tyler, Donnelly
Glenna Young, Cascade
Bob Crump was elected to serve as the president of the board for the Stibnite Foundation, Julie Good will serve as secretary and Glenna Young will serve as treasurer.
