The Stibnite Foundation has more money to support important initiatives in the community now that Perpetua Resources has received a positive Record of Decision from the U.S. Forest Service. Perpetua Resources presented the Stibnite Foundation with a $100,000 check on January 16, 2025.
“The Stibnite Foundation will be able to fund amazing projects across our region with this money,” said Julie Good, Stibnite Foundation media spokesperson. “The possibilities are endless. There are so many amazing nonprofits in our communities working hard every day to advance important causes. We cannot wait to see what we can accomplish by supporting these organizations through our granting process.”
The Stibnite Foundation was formed in early 2019 to ensure the entire region could benefit from the Stibnite Gold Project. Perpetua Resources provided an initial $300,000 in funding and 150,000 in shares to launch the Stibnite Foundation with a clear plan to provide additional donations as the company reached key milestones. Achieving a positive Record of Decision was the first milestone reached to trigger additional funding.
It is likely Perpetua Resources will make additional contributions to the Stibnite Foundation this year as the Stibnite Gold Project moves forward. The Stibnite Foundation will receive another $100,000 plus an additional 150,000 shares once the company has received all the permits it needs to start construction. Perpetua Resources will also contribute $250,000 at the commencement of construction, which is anticipated to occur this summer. This means the Stibnite Foundation could potentially receive an additional $350,000 and 150,000 shares by the end of 2025.
The Stibnite Foundation is focused on investing in opportunities that help local residents, protect the environment and build stronger, more vibrant communities. Governmental agencies and organizations with tax-exempt status located in northern Adams County, southern Idaho County, and Valley County are encouraged to apply online for grants from the Stibnite Foundation. The next grant cycle will open on April 1, 2025 and close on May 31, 2025.
